LANCHANG 2nd June 2016 – Anzeco Plantations Sdn Bhd (ANZECO) celebrated a major milestone of the collaboration with Malaysian Agrifood Corporation Berhad (MAFC) with the inaugural planting of pineapple suckers in a “Majlis Doa Selamat” at the Lanchang farm recently.
Building Relationship through Collaboration
The Managing Director of ANZECO, Puan Norzaity Binti Othman had envisioned the companies’ commitment for 16-month of continuous planting of Pineapple MD2 variety, targeting the first harvesting yield in October 2017. Aiming the local and export markets, Pineapple MD2 variety is chosen for its delicious and extra sweet flavour. Pineapple Plantation collaboration in Lanchang is only the beginning, MAFC-ANZECO is looking forward to expand the business by seeking valuable supports from the government agencies in term of knowledge and new technologies. Also together in the event are representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DOA), Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI).
MAFC Group Chief Executive Office, En Harun Haji Johari highlighted that MAFC as the collaborating partner is committed to making the business a successful venture. MAFC is willing to provide their utmost support in term of their experience. MAFC would like to offer the Consolidation, Packaging and Packing Center (CPPC) in Lanchang to ANZECO expecting the business will grow in three years time.
MAFC-ANZECO collaboration which was established since 2015 focused on plantation and processing of MD2 Pineapple initially at the 100-acre land area in Taman Kekal Pengeluaran Makanan (TKPM) Lanchang, Pahang. While ANZECO is running operations on their own resource and cost, MAFC is providing support as in term of advice and experience in modern facility farming including Supply-Demand management.
